HOW TO: clear out Cookies,  delete temporary files, clear your web surfing history

 

For Windows XP, using Internet Explorer:

 

(A) CLEARING YOUR COOKIES

 

-Open Internet Explorer and Choose Toolsŕ Internet Options

-Choose Delete Cookies and select OK to confirm

 

(B) DELETING TEMPORARY FILES

 

-Open Internet Explorer and Choose Toolsŕ Internet Options

-Choose Delete Files…

-When it asks to confirm, check the box that says [ ] delete all offline content and click OK

 

(C) CLEARING YOUR HISTORY

 

-Open Internet Explorer and Choose Toolsŕ Internet Options

-Choose Clear History and click Yes to confirm

 

 

For Windows XP, using Netscape Navigator (Netscape 7.2)

 

(A) CLEARING YOUR COOKIES

 

-Open Netscape and choose Tools-> Cookie Manager

-Choose Manage Stored Cookies

-Either sort through your cookies, keeping the ones you want, or just choose Remove All Cookies and say Yes when asked to confirm.

 

Note:  Some sites use cookies to remember your name, your preferences, and the way you like certain often-visited web sites set up; if you want to keep these settings (for example, Yahoo!) then leave those cookies in place.

 

(B) CLEARING YOUR HISTORY

 

-Open Netscape and choose Edit-> Preferences

-Double-click on the word Navigator in the left-hand pane

-When the list drops down, click on the word History

-On the right-hand side, click on Clear History

-If desired, click on the button to Clear Location Bar to clear the list of sites you have recently visited.
